A “HELP DESK” has been set up by the WEAB to include its members in the "Stimulus Grand Scheme" package announced by the government to help women entrepreneurs affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. Those who want to avail of loan facilities or other business benefits can contact WEAB. COVID-19 Response:

1. WEAB is proceeding a baseline survey to highlight the Challenges/Crisis of mSME/SME Women Entrepreneur & Self Employment Business owners in the different districts of Bangladesh

2. WEAB is supporting the minorities (Hill Tracts - Small Business Owners and their families) by providing foods

3. WEAB is trying to incorporate Ministry of Industry of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Bank to incorporate affected women entrepreneur regarding the Grant Scheme (already declared by the Government of Bangladesh) to support mSME/SME/Cottage Women Entrepreneur

4. In the Post Pandemic response of COVID-19, WEAB will promote and sell the products of affected women from remote areas through SHEUTI with an objective to sustain their business

5. In the Post Pandemic response of COVID-19, WEAB is preparing an action plan to provide training/workshops on Health awareness issues and Skill Development with an objective to ensure a protective working environment and reduction of poverty.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony held on 23 May 2019 (Thursday) at 12 PM in Sheuti Training Institute between Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB) & LINKUS. The signatory representatives were Ms. Nasreen Fatema Awal, Founder President, Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB) and Mr. Ye Liang, Chairperson, LINKUS. The objective of this MOU is supporting women entrepreneur to access the local market by using digital platform, product promotion through live video, digital marketing & sales, networking, live covering of all events and access to global market. Women entrepreneur need to use the LINKUS App for all services.
Beneficiaries of this MOU are women entrepreneur from different districts and upozilla who can sell their products by using this LINKUS digital platform. They can show their products demo to the customers, display their products globally, and will encourage them to being business owners. It will help SME women to mitigate the middlemen interruption with proper revenue and will help to increase the number of entrepreneurs which will put impact on income generation and overall economy of the nation.

Was invited as a panel speaker for the FCEM world Committee meeting organized by Armenian Young Women’s Association (AYWA), Women Entrepreneurs Network in Armenia (WENA) and World Association of Women Entrepreneurs (FCEM) in Yerevan, Armenia held from 25th to 28th April, 2019. The meeting was launched by the Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Nikol Pashinyan. Also present in the meeting was the Minister of Economy Development and Investment, Mr. Tigran Khachatryan, and Maria Christine Oghly, FCEM World President. The topic was Environmental and Social Business for women entrepreneurs and we discussed on what are the new opportunities for women entrepreneurs in this field, challenges and how it can be overcome.

February 2006: Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Miss Amna Saleem, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan and Mrs. Nasreen Awal Mintoo, President of Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh and Mrs. Samina Fazil, Chairperson of Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry Islamabad, Pakistan.

15. October 2005: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mrs. Sajide Minhaj Mukul, Vice President of WEAB and Mrs. Mehreen Ilahi, Co-Chairperson of Standing Committee of Women Entrepreneur FPCCI, to strengthen the relationship between the business women of Pakistan and Bangladesh, to promote cooperation in trade, investment, services and women empowerment between both countries.

10. – 15. October 2005: Second Asian Women Entrepreneur Eid Festival 2005, Dhaka. After the widely acclaimed First South Asian Women Entrepreneur Eid Festival 2004, WEAB and High Commission of Pakistan to Bangladesh organized the Second Asian Women Entrepreneur Eid Festival 2005, on a grander scale. In addition to the SAARC nations, Turkey and Indonesia were new entrants. Among the 60 participants was the well-known barbacue chef of Pakistan, Bundoo Khan who was flown in, to participate in the festival.

28. August 2005: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mrs. Mahvash Nikpour, Head of Business Women Council, Teheran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines (TCCIM) and Mrs. Nasreen Awal Mintoo, President of Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB), to foster friendship and understanding between Women Entrepreneur of Iran and Bangladesh.

12. February 2005: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mrs. Shanti Chadha, President of Federation of Women Entrepreneur Association of Nepal (FWEAN) and Mrs. Nasreen Awal Mintoo, President of Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB), for better exchange of products within the SAARC region.

03. February 2005: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Begum Salma Ahmed, President of Women’s Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WCCI) Karachi, Pakistan and Mrs. Nasreen Awal Mintoo, President of Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB), in order to engage in the fields of trade, commerce and industry, as well as Women Empowerment with systematic business promotional activities, to bring closer the business women of both countries.

02. – 07. November 2004: Inauguration of First South Asian Women Entrepreneur Eid Festival-2004. Seven Countries brought quality products and participated side by side with our producers in the month of Ramzan. The bazar was a tremendous success.

02. May 2003: Memorandum of Understanding between Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Ladies Organization and WEAB in New Delhi, India. The Cooperation aims on fostering friendship and understanding between women entrepreneur from both countries and promoting cooperation in trade, investment, services and women empowerment.

20. November 2001: Loan agreement between WEAB and Arab Bangladesh Bank Ltd.

General achievements:

# WEAB organizes participation of member entrepreneur in trade fairs, exhibitions and melas in the country.

WEAB sends member producers to trade shows, exhibitions, fairs and festivals around the world, including U.K., U.S.A., Canada, Australia, Germany, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, India, Pakistan and other countries. The exposure has helped improve the quality and design of their own products. They have found markets, and most importantly their confidence has increased.

WEAB also sends members for training abroad, to Korea, India and other countries. Members also attend workshops where they gain valuable insights into product development.

A delegation of women entrepreneur of WEAB attended the First Forum of Business Women in the OIC member Countries, organized by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) in Sharjah, U.A.E. WEAB has been designated to liaison with Muslim Countries of Asia and Africa.

WEAB has opened regional offices all over Bangladesh, reaching out to women entrepreneur and artisans in the remotest villages of Bangladesh. Aim is to seek the hidden talent of our women, and help them achieve their optimum potential.

WEAB as a member of SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneur Council (SCWEC), networks closely with the SAARC countries. Our greatest moment was when Bangladesh, through WEAB, was selected to have chair the orgnization for the next two years. It is an achievement to be proud of as WEAB members have thus brought a new honour to our country.
